Role: Technical Training Manager

Location: Cheltenham

Duration: 6 month initial contract

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Training Manager with a strong Manufacturing background, to join the team based in Cheltenham for an initial 6 month project.

This person will be required to lead a small team of Training Specialists, who are assessing and delivering technical training of Dowty manufacturing personnel. (Both OEM and R&O activities).

We are looking for an experienced training manager to:

* Maintain training delivery records.(individuals and department)

* Plan training / assessment activities.

* Assess employee competences (post training).

* Provide feedback to trainers on quality of training delivered.

* Provide training solutions to non-standard training requests.

* Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Production Leaders in reviewing shop-floor process documentation (routing cards etc..)

* Apprentice program management for all Dowty Apprentices.

* Recruit and train Training team personnel.

* Manage training budget

* Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions

* Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices

* Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary

Requirements

* Proven work experience as a training manager in a technically complex industry. (Manufacturing/Engineering/Aviation)

* Track record in designing and executing successful training programs

* Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc)

* Excellent communication and leadership skills

* Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively

* Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals Good computer and database skills

* BS degree in education, human resources or relevant technical field
