IT Business Partner

Bracknell Forest Council

Salary: £49,928 - £54,574 pa plus relocation package of up to £8,000

About the role:

Bracknell Forest Council is undertaking a major transformation programme - reshaping how our services are delivered as we respond to the financial challenges facing local government. Underpinning our transformation is a robust ICT strategy which is shaping the council’s future and changing how support services, including ICT, are delivered.

As our new IT Business Partner, you will play an important role in embedding our business partner business model and supporting the transformation agenda within our Children’s and Adult Services departments.

Working closely with service directors, managers and staff, you will develop a clear understanding of their strategic needs and be sensitive to operational issues with an ICT component. You’ll also represent the ‘art of the possible’ in terms of current and emerging technology to enable these to be part of the ICT planning process.

As an expert business partner, you will maintain familiarity with trends within the ICT world that are of relevance to children’s and adult services. We’ll expect you to retain an oversight of best practice within the sector - in particular, how other councils are using ICT effectively in this area.

In this key role, you will also look outward for innovative ways to embrace the power of ‘big data’ and analytics to reduce the stress demands on social care services. This might include ways to improve coherence across the multiple data sources and records management capability, enabling more effective working with the NHS and other partner organisations.

This is an exciting new role in which you will have ample opportunity to shape it, add value and make your mark.

About you:

We are looking for someone with the ability to drive change and service improvement, through ICT services and strategies.

You will also be a strong collaborator, communicator and influencer - with an understanding of the complexities of adults, children’s, or similar, services when delivering an ICT action plan that is realistic and delivers tangible benefits.

You will also have the confidence and credibility to represent ICT services at senior management team meetings and committees, ensuring ICT services make a valued contribution.

About us:

As an area, Bracknell Forest has much to offer. It is a small, modern town that is currently benefitting from a major programme of regeneration which is revitalising the town centre and will bring an abundance of new retail outlets, restaurants, cafes and leisure opportunities. Though much of its centre is modern, Bracknell has a strong historic background. Once part of the Windsor Great Forest, it still nestles in woodlands; one fifth of the borough is forest, with another fifth protected for its high wildlife value including ten sites of specific scientific interest.

Located in the heart of the Thames Valley and close to Reading, the town of Bracknell has excellent road and rail links to all areas of the UK, with the council office situated within two minutes walk of the station. There is also onsite parking, making it extremely assessable.

Brackell Forest Council prides itself on being an excellent employer. We offer a fantastic range of benefits including flexible and agile working arrangements, as well as learning and development opportunities which will offer the chance to develop and progress your career.

How to apply:

We wish to make the application process as straightforward as possible and we just ask that you complete our online application form providing further information against a couple of specific questions. You are also welcome to attach your CV, if you have one to further support your application.
