Process Engineer

Pontypool, Newport

£30,000 to £35,000 + Bonus + Pension + Training + Progression + 33 Days Holiday

Excellent opportunity for a process engineer from a mechanical engineering background to join a steadily expanding company offering a technically challenging and interesting role in a great working environment.

This industry leading organisation are renowned in their field for their high quality of service. Due to continued success, investment and expansion, they are now looking to add a Process Engineer to their team.

In this role you will manage and co-ordinate cross-functional working teams as required to improve assembly processed. While supporting new product development (NPD) through to launch.

The ideal candidate will have experience of optimising manufacturing assembly lines/cells and work flows in line with Lean Culture principles.

The Role:

*Manage and co-ordinate cross-functional working teams as required to improve assembly processes

*Support new product development (NPD) through to launch

*Ability to interpret; technical standards, technical drawings and specifications

*The production and interpretation of process maps, PFMEAs, control plans, build instructions, etc.

*Designing cell lay outs, process tooling and bespoke test equipment

*Introducing lean practices to new cells from the outset

*Interfacing with suppliers and customers, internal and external. As the product manufacturing expert, you will be expected to provide technical support and guidance where required

The Person:

*HND / HNC in Mechanical Engineering

*Experience working with a process engineering environment

*A demonstrable understanding of PPAP

*A demonstrable knowledge of assembly lean build processes

*Six sigma green belt would be advantageous

*Experience with problem solving methodologies (5 whys, fishbone, cause and lean effect, 8D etc.)
