We have a new opportunity available for a technology-loving Software/Cloud Engineer. This is a technically expansive role in which the Software/Cloud Engineer will be developing and taking ownership of products utilizing an uber-modern technology stack inclusive of AWS/Azure, Go, Kubernetes, ElasticSearch, Docker and ideally some Ruby (although Bash or Python are also considered). The ideal Software/Cloud Engineer will have a passion for technology and be motivated to expand on their existing skills. Experience in software and operations (DevOps) is required as well as platform management/maintenance in a cloud environment.

The Software/Cloud Engineer will have the opportunity to progress into a Lead Cloud DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer role and as the company are rapidly expanding, career growth can be expected quicker than your average company.

Working for a small, friendly and growing Oxford based Research Technology Company, the successful Software/Cloud Engineer will play an important role involving:

           Improving the life-cycle of services

           Product service design, deployment and operation

           Supporting services as they go live

           Automating key processes

           Scaling systems sustainably via automation

Ideally the Software/Cloud Engineer will have the majority of following:

           Experience of managing containers in a production environment

           Debug and troubleshoot problems across a distributed system

           You have deployed a product to a cloud or virtualised environment

           Experience coding in one or more of the following: Go, Ruby, Python or shell scripting (Bash)

           Worked with at least one of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform or Azure

           Working within a Continuous Delivery focused environment

           Administering MySQL databases

           Comfortable using Linux as your production OS

           Management of an ElasticSearch cluster.

Strategically located just off the M40, the offices are easily accessible from the Oxford area as well as locations such as Uxbridge, Maidenhead, Marlow, Princes Risborough, Thame, High Wycombe, Wheatley, Bicester, Banbury, Leamington Spa and many more. Some flexi working is available for those who wish to avoid the rush hour commute and remote working can be set up for occasional home working.
