We have an exciting opportunity with one of our high profile government clients (PNC) based in Hendon, London. The Police National Computer is a system used extensively by law enforcement organisations across the United Kingdom. This went live in 1974 and now consists of several databases available 24 hours a day, giving access to information of nation and local significance.

In this role, you will assist in all aspects of maintaining, upgrading and implementing 3rd party software products that are required to run applications on all Police National Computer (PNC) Open-Systems environments from Test, Development, Integrations, Production and Disaster Recovery.

Role Responsibilities:

* Implement and support all Application Integration environments (at software, middleware and integration levels), including operational, disaster recovery, development and integrated test environments. This will include the implementation, support, maintenance and administration of third party software products used by the Applications Integration Infrastructure, including WebLogic application server, SiteMinder access control software, Apache and Tomcat web servers, EntireX middleware and LDAP directory software.

* Provide assistance with investigations into any application problems including performance related problems, working closely with other teams and making full use of AppDynamics, the BMC toolset and Java Profiler

* Monitor and maintain all interfaces between Open Systems and the PNC Mainframe ensuring the provision of a 24/7 service to all external and internal customers as agreed in the published SLAs.

* Design and implementation of specialised utilities required to support the infrastructure.

* Develop full implementation procedures for software integration and include reversion plans to minimise disruption to customers.

* Provision of support, both during working hours and on a on-call basis as required, either on site or by telephone, to ensure maximum availability of PNC Open Systems; this entails being personally responsible that correct decisions are made and procedures carried out to minimise disruption and restore service as soon as possible

Experience required:

* Experience of working with messaging and communication technologies.

* Experience of working with message queues and messaging systems.

* High level of computer literacy
