Huxley Engineering and a major Engineering Technology Innovator for the Power Generation Industry are looking to recruit a Hardware Systems Integration Lead Engineer to provide overall Hardware integration leadership covering the entire control, power and EDS systems.

Based in the Coventry area and reporting into the Head of Hardware Engineering, the permanent Hardware Systems Integration Lead Engineer positions will see the successful candidate be responsible for hardware system level requirements and system boundary control, devolving these requirements to the wider Hardware design team to ensure these requirements are understood such that individual units can be designed and tested independently but still deliver a cohesive, reliable and cost-effective solution.

Key Responsibilities for Hardware Systems Integration Lead Engineer Role:

- To develop and manage the delivery of the electrical and electronic system level design programme, working from the product requirements to create the primary deliverables of electronic system architecture with supporting systems interconnection diagram, and electronic module requirements

- To lead the development and ongoing updates to the electrical and electronic system FMEA, ensuring the implementation and close-out of any design actions identified

- To lead the electrical distribution system design, including creation and integration of harness models within the overall mechanical design and creation of harness manufacturing information

- To be responsible to guide, direct and approve all aspects of the mechanical design activity to integrate the electronic modules into the product, to include placement of the electronic modules, thermal management, interconnections, and mechanical packaging, including consideration for EMC screening

- To develop and manage the electrical and electronic systems design validation programme and to lead a team in the successful execution of the agreed plans

- To lead the investigation and resolution of issues reported from electronic integration and/or product level tests, to include operation of the Failure Reporting and Corrective Action Systems (FRaCAS)

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required for Hardware Systems Integration Lead Engineer role:

* Degree in Electrical & Electronic engineering

* At least five years' experience working in electrical system design, development and testing, having held lead role for at least two years, preferably gained within an automotive engineering environment

* Experienced in the design, 3D modelling and drafting of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies.

* Good working knowledge of mechanical and thermal design principles in relation to integration of electronic modules within mechanical systems

* Able to lead system level FMEA design analysis for a large and complex electrical / electronic system

* Having breadth and depth of experience in defining and leading integration test programs to validate correct functionality and performance of the system against the electronic system requirements

* Skilled and experienced in fault finding on large, complex electrical and electronic system

* Preferably, but not essentially, being trained and externally accredited for testing of high voltage (400V DC), high current (>80A) and high power (up to 12kW) electrical / electronic systems
