Our thriving Birmingham office is looking for an IT Manager. Working co-operatively with the global IT Support function and other areas of the firm-wide Technology department, this position is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of PC-based applications, infrastructure components, and telecommunications within the office, ensuring that local and firm-wide systems are consistently delivered and supportable.
You’ll be rewarded with a competitive salary, plus an enviable benefits package.
Our Team
You will be reporting to the Director of Technology Service and will take supervisory responsibility over the office’s IT Support Analyst, in order to deliver hands-on technology-related support to the individuals based in the Birmingham Office. You will be required to work closely with local stakeholders to understand and realise expectations and business needs, mobilising the resources of the Technology department as required on behalf of the office.
Our Opportunity
In this role, you will be directly supervising an IT Support Analyst in the Birmingham office and will provide overall accountability for the delivery of technology services to the office. You will provide a clear point of contact for IT support queries from end users and management in the Birmingham office, and will facilitate communication in both directions between central Technology functions, office management, and end users within the office.
You will deliver first- and second-level technology support on PC-based and telecommunications issues, responding to support requests in a polite, professional, and timely manner. You will manage the integration of specialised applications and technology services required by individuals and small teams within the office.
You will maintain an accurate and up-to-date audit of hardware for the office, and will assist with the administration and maintenance of automated asset tracking tools.
You will also assist with the execution of firm-wide technology projects, providing local leadership, communication and project management as required. Travel to other offices may be required.
You
You must be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and have a minimum of six years’ related experience and/or training ideally within a law firm, with two years’ experience in supervising a team.
Due to the technical nature of this role, you will need a working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016 and Microsoft Windows 10, as well as knowledge of desktop applications, preferably in a legal environment. Experience with PC-based systems, mobile devices and remote access tools is essential, along with basic networking knowledge.
