Software Engineer - Engineering (Embedded Systems)

One of the world's leading automotive OEM's are looking to take on a Junior Software Engineer to work within a collaborative team environment at a new Greenfield site, recently named as the International Software Centre of Excellence.

The Job

Your goal is to develop benchmarking methodologies as you apply your technical expertise to analyse the representative workloads within an embedded automotive environment.

* Development or modification of representative automotive workloads and analytics of the resource requirements for the data and message paths within the solution.

* Working with Model-based Architecture, developing & modification as required for the representative workload use case

* Provide performance characterization and analysis of the features & functions within the vehicles electrical systems.

* Working within the vehicle electrical architecture e.g. Chassis, Powertrain, Body, Electrical, Infotainment, Connectivity

* Supporting internal customers with workload requirement gathering, analysis.

* Working with benchmarking suites and simulation environments

* Benchmarking data analysis, generation of presentation data.

* Maintaining the vehicle benchmarking database with up-to-date vehicle performance data, features and content, etc.

* Work as part of a team in an open, transparent and collaborative manner, sharing good practice and seeking to continuously improve the quality of outputs

The Requirements

Qualifications; a degree in Electronic Engineering/ Computer Science/ Mathematics or a related technical field. Will consider equivalent practical experience

Software Development; practical experience in software development using any tools such as C, C++, Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW etc. and ideally have knowledge with embedded systems.

Operating Systems (OS's), processes and tools; have knowledge or experience in any of the following - Linux, QNX Neutrino, AUTOSAR, RTOS etc; MISRA, CRC, Data Integrity, ECU's, Automotive vehicle bus protocols etc.

Silicon Architecture; have knowledge or experience of the silicon architecture (ARM, x86/64, uC etc)

Virtualisation solutions; have knowledge of Hypervisors, Containers etc.

Softer Skills; must be highly motivated and self-starting. Good communication skills and the ability to remain flexible and adaptable in order to embrace the ambiguity that comes with developing new technologies.

Salary: Competitive + 8% bonus + benefits

Hours: 39 hours a week

Location: Shannon, Ireland

Security: European Passport holders only, may consider other nationalities depends on experience

Start Date: Flexible, but ideally ASAP.
