This role is in our Innovation team, a research and development function building capabilities within the Xceptor product using cutting-edge technologies. The team has a focus on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing, and how these technologies can extend the capability of our software beyond traditional rule-based approaches.
Our vision for Xceptor is to build on our rapid growth story by continuing to deliver exceptional solutions to the needs of our customer base, while maximising the opportunities presented by emerging technologies. This role will be central to building, delivering and evolving that long-term vision.
As a senior software engineer in the Innovation team, you will research AI, ML and NLP technologies, and use these capabilities to build and deliver working solutions within Xceptor, to address real-life challenges faced by our existing and future customers.
The successful candidate will be ambitious, energetic and passionate about the difference that technology can make to our customers. He or she will have a strong academic background, coupled with proven commercial experience building and delivering AI/ML/NLP solutions. It is important to be able to understand and articulate both the technical details of those solutions, and how these translate into practical, usable deliverables.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the innovation team and broader company to identify relevant use cases for the adoption of innovative technologies
Research current and emerging technologies and determine the most effective ways to adopt them into the Xceptor application
Build prototypes that demonstrate the applicability of these technologies; work with the innovation team to showcase them within Xceptor to build consensus in their adoption
Translate prototype solutions into enterprise-grade, working components that fit within the broader Xceptor solution
Articulate the benefits of our innovation strategy using methods such as white papers and technical articles
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Strong academic background, including a degree in computer science or other relevant discipline, from a recognised university
Proven commercial experience building and delivering enterprise software using AI/ML/NLP technologies, as part of broader software development experiences
Passion for cutting-edge technologies, and a strong desire to expand current knowledge through research and learning
Ability to apply past experiences of relevant technologies to future requirements
Excellent technical communication skills, including the ability to describe complex technical solutions to non-expert audiences
