Application Architect - 6 Month Contract - Farnborough

My client, a leading outsourcing and technology company are for a number an Application Architect for a 6 month initial contract based in Farnborough and can offer a competitive daily rate. The role is for an immediate start and the client are keen to secure the right candidate over the next few days.

Role Information:

* Application architect to define high level architecture for mainframe based custom applications, and 3rd party applications.

* Define strategic 'to-be' architecture as a result of requirements identified in the project

* Lead technical work stream and participate in business and IT workshops to define and impact assess requirements across multiple systems.

* Oversee team of developers making changes to applications in scope

Required Skills:

* zCOBOL (+CICS/DB2) experience is essential

* Also some systems are in DL1/IMS so exposure to these is also of interest.

* Experience of overseeing technical activities including technical design, build, test, deployment, hypercare and handover to support.
