Jaguar Land Rover are looking to hire a SQL Developer in their brand new Digital Development Centre in Manchester, and is expected to form part of a wider team delivering digital software solutions to the business and its customers.

Joining the team in our Digital Development Centre, your responsibilities as a SQL Developer will include designing, building and managing complex data models for enterprise grade databases, APIs and Microservices.

Essential skills for the SQL Developer:

* Proven track record of SQL development and Database Design

* Strong understanding of relational data modelling and key concepts such as indexing, Transactions and stored procedures

* Experienced with Cloud data environments such as Google Cloud SQL, Amazon RDS etc

* Experience in all aspects of software delivery and lifecycle, from inception phase to deliver

* Excellent collaborative skills as will be working in cross functional teams

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills as will be dealing with people of varied seniority levels and technical abilities

Desirable skill for the SQL Developer:

* Experienced in NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j) database technologies

* Highly skilled in data in Service Oriented Architectures: RESTful APIs, Microservices

* Experience of working in an Agile/XP/Scrum team and familiarity with associated techniques

* Awareness of DevOps culture and associated practices: Continuous Integration and Delivery, Infrastructure Automation, Automated Monitoring and Analytics
