SAP ABAP Developer

SAP ABAP Developer required by a leading support services organisation based in Portsmouth. Reporting into the Senior SAP ABAP Developer, you will be a member of the applications team responsible for the delivery of ABAP development projects. Your primary focus will be to provide technical expertise for system design, testing, implementation and support during the design and development phases of the projects.

Main Responsibilities:

* Deliver SAP development projects for the SAP implementation programme primarily for FICO, HR, SRM, HCM, PS, MM and Fiori

* Technical integration/validation, training and workshops

* Deliver root cause analysis, provide solutions and deliver services for specific areas

* Ensure and deliver all 2nd and 3rd line support for ABAP development in line with SLAs

* Ensure configuration and development is completed and tested within agreed timescales

* Identify new ways to exploit functionality in the SAP platform in accordance with the application roadmap

* Provide a consistent approach to supplier and client relationship management

* Identify measures to actively improve the process documentation and suggest new standards/best practice

* Ensure all solutions are delivered to the agreed standards and that all technical decisions taken are in line with supporting business and IT strategies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Strong experience as a SAP ABAP Developer

* Broad knowledge of SAP functional areas

* 3+ years' experience of programming within SAP

* Experience of managing the creation of work packages to ensure the delivery of technical solutions

* Experience of managing internal and external suppliers, as well as building relationships across a range of stakeholder groups

* Workflow experience (desirable)

* Must have, or be able to gain MOD SC Security Clearance

* Basic salary of £50,000 - £55,000
