1st/2nd Line Support Engineer, MS Office, Active Directory, Server

Our client are an Oxfordshire-based Microsoft Certified Partner and have a brand new vacancy available for a 1st / 2nd Line Support Engineer. This role will begin in a 1st Line Support capacity but will then rapidly progress into a more technical 2nd Line Support role and beyond! This career progression will enable the new IT Support Engineer to gain qualifications, wider technical exposure as well as the chance to work directly with clients.

The new 1st/2nd line Support Engineer will ideally have some commercial experience in IT as well as good communication skills. IT Support Engineers with IT qualifications or experience working within an MSP are also highly desired.

This 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer role offers any candidate the opportunity to work in a highly technical environment, using the very latest technologies. You will be expected to develop your skills and progress to work on server and network implementation and support utilising VMWare and other virtual technology solutions.

Requirements for the 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer

                     The drive to want to expand upon your current skill set

                     You must be an organised and self-motivated individual with good communication skills and have a positive attitude.

                     While you will be supported by and part of a team you must feel comfortable working and learning under you own initiative.

                     You will have an understanding of how small to medium sized businesses use IT.

Opportunities will be available for the 1st / 2nd Line Support Engineer to gain experience with:

                     User management and Windows Server rolls including Active Directory

                     Firewall configuration and support

                     Office 365 Inc. Teams & Skype for Business implementation

                     Implementation of Enterprise Mobility + Security

                     Network Infrastructure implementation & support

                     Investigation of internet problems and failures & installation of equipment

                     Explain product use and operation to End Users

                     Creation & Updating of Site Documentation & Support Requests.

                     Specify, build and configure hardware and software as required

                     Trial and assess new software and services

                     Advise on all aspects of IT including technical and legal.

The role is commutable from all areas in Oxfordshire and surrounding areas including Bicester, Banbury, Kidlington, Reading, Swindon, Witney and all other nearby areas.
