Junior Project Manager

We are actively looking to secure an innovative and pragmatic Junior Project Manager to join Experis.

Job Purpose

We require a Junior Project Manager to join the team here at Experis, working onsite with one of our clients based in Chorley. Our client is the world's leading business transformation company, helping clients harness the power of innovation to thrive on change.

Our client is investing heavily in leading growth technology such as Big Data, Cloud and Cyber Security. Due to these investments, they have secured a number of new key wins and require further Project Management talent to assist in delivering fantastic technology solutions for their private and public sector clients. The successful candidates will work within the PM Delivery hubs, within a team of 6 or 7 other Project Managers, reporting to one of the Hub Team Leads. The successful Project Manager will be delivering 5-10 small to medium size Projects concurrently to a variety of external customers across the client's Portfolio.

The objectives for the PM Delivery Hub are to improve quality, increase responsiveness, balance demand, reduce cost and improve competitiveness. Are you ready to join the team?

All Project Managers should be able to demonstrate experience leading or supporting on small to medium sized IT Infrastructure and Application Projects and have had full budget responsibility on Projects in the past (including tracking and reconciliation).

Responsibilities include

Under the management of the Hub Team Lead, we require our Project Managers to fulfil the following:

* Ensure adherence to the client PM methodology.

* Prepare Project Proposals and Project Initiation documentation.

* Identify, assess, manage and communicate risks and issues pertaining to the success of the Project.

* Escalate matters of significance as appropriate.

* Prepare realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and track activities against the Project schedule, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.

* Manage the budget (cost, price, and timescales), level of resources, and manage through the change control procedure where these deviate from agreed tolerances.

* Provide reports/updates to appropriate management, boards and committees.

* Provide effective leadership to the Project team and take appropriate action where performance deviates from agreed tolerances.

* Ensure that Projects are formally closed and where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are recorded.

Essential skills/Knowledge

* Good experience working as a Project Manager, including:

* Experience in Project Planning and scheduling.

* Experience in management of Third party supplier relationships.

* Experience taking full budget responsibility.

* Good commercial acumen.

* Experience of managing teams in a Matrix environment.

* Experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels.

* Understanding of stakeholder Relationship and management.

* Experience of requirements gathering.

* Experience working to tight deadlines.

* Organisational skills to balance and prioritise work.

* Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and Clients.

* Personal computer and business solutions software skills.

* Analytical and problem solving skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work in a team environment.

* Ability to deal with ambiguity and change.
