Company Overview
My client is a global financial services provider with operations across Europe, Asia Pacific and North America. They currently have a team of 3 Data Scientists working on projects aligned to marking, trading and operations. This is an exciting Greenfield opportunity with the team having only been formed 6 months ago and so there is huge scope to implement new ideas and shape the future growth of the team.
The role is reporting directly into the Head of Data Science.
Your Responsibilities
* Interacting with internal stakeholders and external customers to understand and help solve their data problems
* Scoping data science projects across the business and defining the workflow
* Developing and testing machine learning models using the latest data mining, statistical and machine learning techniques
* Managing data science projects from design to delivery
* Working closely with sales, marketing, data & IT teams to productionise models
* Working closely with the rest of the data science team to align and standardise data models.
* Communicating their work with the rest of the business - through visualisations, interfaces, presentations and other mediums
* Monitor and highlight campaign and initiative effectiveness through delivery of post-campaign evaluation, significance testing and reporting on ROI and incremental value.
Required Experience
* Experience in applying domain specific methodologies using Predictive Modelling/Machine Learning or Optimisation techniques across Finance, Telecoms or Ecommerce
* Highly quantitative background - gained through work experience (Preferred) or an advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in STEM
* Experience in using Data manipulation and Machine Learning libraries across Python(Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, NLTK) or R (Dplyr, Caret, Ranger etc)
* Experience using one of Relational Database Licenses (Oracle, Postgres, Sybase or SQL-Server)
* Exposure to BigData technologies such as Spark, Cassandra or MongoDB
* Keen to research and apply Deep learning methodologies to solve business problems
* Understand of engineering best practices, agile development processes and version control
* Ability to translate insights into business recommendations
