Job Title: Infotainment Software Architect

Location: Gaydon

The position is a permanent Infotainment Software Architect, based in our Principle Engineering Centre in Gaydon Warwickshire, not far from Coventry.

An IT based role, looking at the architectural strategy, design and implementation of the In Vehicle Infotainment systems, including audio/video (A/V) interfaces, touchscreens and keypads.

Key Responsibilities

* Overall security responsibility of in car infotainment system and interfaces.

* Penetration testing of infotainment system and interfaces.

* Security risk and mitigation planning of upcoming platform releases.

* System requirements analysis using IVI software system design process

* Production and review of Automotive IVI (In Vehicle Infotainment) software system design documents

* Supporting the software development of IVI applications on Linux and QNX based infotainment systems

* Working with a team of multi-disciplined engineers responsible for developing IVI software architecture

* Working with the Software Integrator and 3rd Party Suppliers as required to resolve architectural and development issues.

* Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time

Key Performance Indicators

* Design of cyber security architecture on JLR in car infotainment system systems

* Co-ordination of IVI security features with JLR Connected Car features

* Troubleshooting of security diagnostic routines.

* Monitoring of Security Blogs and CVE announcements.

* Certificate revocation watching.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

* Experience of cyber security design for software systems

* Good experience of software development and tools

* Ability to schedule their time effectively across a number of complex tasks

* Experience of working with different groups within a large scale software development

* Relevant degree or equivalent experience

Desirable:

* Infotainment System knowledge

* CAN (design, development and validation)

* Working knowledge of C & C++

Personal Profile

Essential:

* It is expected that the candidate will have developed through design implementation to architectural definition roles and should be able to demonstrate ability to make key software and system architectural decisions.

* Occasional travel to other JLR sites and partner sites (in the UK and abroad) will be required.

Desirable:

* Ability to analyse and resolve complex hardware and software interrelated issues
