About Us

The Natural Environment Research Council is a partner organisation within UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). UKRI is a new entity that brings together nine partners to create an independent organisation with a strong voice for research and innovation, and a vision to ensure the UK maintains its world-leading position in research and innovation.

The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) is undertaking a major business transformation programme (Renaissance) which will result in the organisation being setup as an independent CLG with charitable status. At this time the organisation is also in the process of applying for Athena SWAN accreditation. Both of these initiatives require considerable input and change from the Department of Science & Technology (DST) and National Marine Facility (NMF).

About the role

We are currently seeking a Senior Change Project Manager to join our Science and Project Support Team (SPS) to develop and assure the delivery of a major business transformation programme, Renaissance. One of the projects within this programme is to lead Athena Swan accreditation.

The key responsibility of this position will be to proactively prepare the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) for the impact of Renaissance, providing a bridge between the programme and business as usual. As a Senior Project Manager, you will provide vision and leadership to develop and implement business change activity and products.

You will report to and work closely with the Head of Science and Project Support (SPS) as an integral member of the SPS team to produce, monitor, manage and evaluate the change plans.

You will be required to take responsibility for the coordination of all project activities, actively participating in cross-functional groups to engage and motivate others.

About you

You will have extensive experience in the delivery of organisational change project, ideally in a technical environment and be able to work effectively and efficiently towards goals in an intricate and diverse environment.

The ability to establish and develop productive working relationships will be critical to success in this role.

You must be approachable and able to effect positive cultural change, securing commitment and buy-in to your projects. The ability to adapt to changing circumstances whilst remaining clam and maintaining performance is essential.

You will have the ability to anticipate, recognize and effectively deal with existing or potential conflicts.

An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Project will be required.

You will be highly numerate and ideally a qualified project management professional.
