INTERNATIONAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Our client a leading international Ecommerce organization is looking for an experienced International Systems Engineer to join their ever-growing International Multi-Channel team based in North Dublin on a permanent basis

This position will provide systems engineering and support for our clients non-US corporate offices and cloud environments. The right candidate for this role has experience designing and supporting international infrastructure and working in a global team setting. The ability to communicate effectively while working with colleagues across multiple countries and time zones is essential

International Systems Engineer Key Responsibilities:

* Deployment, ongoing management and changes of business application, Microsoft Dynamics, and hardware as well as the internal business operations, development and general IT infrastructure.

* Deployment of applications into physical, virtual, or cloud-hosted environments

* Provide recommendations to management, based on current and emerging technologies, on methods to reduce costs, improve performance and availability, and reduce administration time for our clients information systems.

* Ensure that the architecture and design of all IT infrastructures evolves with business requirements

* Provide technical guidance to the management team to ensure that key business objectives are met.

* Work with Storage Engineers to design and maintain proper storage configurations for systems and applications

* Work with Database Admins maintain proper database performance for systems and applications

* Thoroughly document new system deployments and changes to existing systems

* Support of existing systems during upgrades, maintenance, or other activities

* Perform daily management and administration of Windows Servers, and VMware host and guests

* Conduct capacity planning and performance testing/tuning

International Systems Engineer Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Information Systems, Computer Science or other related field or equivalent year-for-year experience required

* At least 5 years of server infrastructure experience

* Must be available for occasional after hours and weekend work.

* Must be available for on-call rotation with the ability to respond to the needs of a 24x7 environment.

* IT operational skills in physical, virtual, and cloud hosted environments

* Ability to work effectively and be able to balance and prioritize multiple tasks

* Possess desire for continued development and growth

* Working ability to remain effective under stress, and respond to pressure in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization

* Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease

* Knowledge of Retail Systems and processes preferred

* Hands-on experience installing, tuning and troubleshooting Windows Server systems in a high-volume enterprise environment

* Knowledge and ability to work with Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Management, DFS, TCP/IP, Clustering, PKI)

* Knowledge and ability to install, configure, tune and troubleshoot IIS

* Knowledge and ability to work with third party web server management tools (ex. content replication tools, performance testing and analysis)

* Knowledge of Virtualization technologies (VMware preferred)

* Knowledge and ability to use scripting technologies (Powershell, VB, WMI, etc)

* Working knowledge web services technologies

* Working knowledge of Windows SQL technologies

* Knowledge of Linux-based systems management and maintenance

* Amazon Web Services, working knowledge of components, operation, deployment

* Demonstrated appropriate ability with handling complex and demanding situations and respond to pressure

* Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities

* Consistently demonstrate a commitment to our clients policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities

* Additional languages - Italian, French, or German desired
