Wintel Engineer to be based in Chesterfield on an initial 6 Month contract. Experienced Wintel Engineer with excellent Windows Server, and VMWare.

Job Title - Wintel Engineer

Location - Chesterfield

Rate - £ 340 per day

Duration - 6 Months

Wintel Engineer required to join one of our leveraged 24/7 Operational Support teams.

Role Description

This role is suitable for an engineer with good Windows server support experience, desktop and unix platform support desirable.

Overall Role Purpose

Good Analytical and troubleshooting skills i.e. can own and run an issue with minimal intervention from others ensuring all relevant parties are informed in a timely manner

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

* Troubleshooting / provide solution(s) to system and network problems, diagnose and solve hardware/software Incidents/problems

* Work Out of Hours as part of a 24/7 shift team based in Chesterfield.

* Technical Learning.

* Learning on the Fly.

* Dealing with Ambiguity

* Create, manage and evolve polices, processes and procedures

* Install, maintain and support new applications and Infrastructure

* Prioritising and managing several open cases and mini projects at one time

Typical Outputs and Deliverables

* Managing and build of Windows server Platforms

* Using VMWare Management interfaces

* Managing Active Directory

* Administering Domain Controllers

* Create, manage and evolve polices, processes and procedures

* Work to SLA thresholds for incident(s) and problem(s)

* Self Development.

* Adhering to internal business processes.

Key Attributes

* Experience of supporting a variety of Windows client and server operating systems

* Familiarity with VMWare (vSphere, vCenter etc)

* Experience of Cloud Technologies / Infrastructure

* Knowledge of monitoring alerting, logging and status messages

* Troubleshooting network issues

* Fundamental networking knowledge - IP, DNS, IP routing, network address translation etc.

* Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Windows Server operating systems

* ITIL- must understand principles

Out of Hours

* Out of hours and weekend work required as part of a 24/7 shift team.
