Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a System Operations Engineer for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.£500/day (outside of IR35) based in Edinburgh.
Responsibilities:
* Delivering against infrastructure dependencies for product builds.
* Incident troubleshooting of business system issues.
* Replacing package/server based solutions with containerised deployments on a PaaS platform.
* Advising development teams in best practice for CI and CD deployments on containerised platforms.
* Helping development teams move from traditional development model to a DevOps model.
* Installing, configuring and maintaining the toolset to achieve the above.
Requirements:
* Expert background and understanding of Linux, particularly RHEL 7.
* Experience with SE Linux would be beneficial.
* Knowledge of Kubernetes/Openshift, Jenkins and Ansible.
* Knowledge of monitoring and logging across a distributed compute environment.
* Familiarity with systems integration programming, e.g: Python, GoLang.
* Strong knowledge of distributed version control best practices.
* Strong scripting skills, e.g. Python, Bash.
* Exposure to enterprise scale software builds and integration.
* Proven ability to work in an agile team using Scrum or Kanban.
* Experience in Active Directory & IDM domain administration.
