Are you careful and meticulous with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team in developing databases and digital projects? We’re looking for a Data and Technical Officer to help our digital team develop its databases. You will support live and pilot digital products and databases used by Science and Standards and Conformity Assessment Bodies. This will include maintaining accurate and high-quality records relating to MSC certified fisheries and those fisheries undergoing assessment, chain of custody certified organisations and the activities of each accredited certifier.

You will be required to manage and support existing MSC Access/SQL databases and provide helpdesk support for larger applications in collaboration with other MSC IT teams. You will also undertake data queries, analyses and graphical outputs, and may be required to train and support certification and MSC staff as necessary in the use of E-cert and core operational databases. This will involve working closely with members of the Strategic Research, Supply Chain and Fisheries teams.

Who are you?

You will have:

          a degree or equivalent experience in natural sciences, computing and IT, or other discipline relevant to the role

          well-developed IT skills, including good use of MS Office products

          proficiency in database design, administration and experience in using SQL Server databases

          the ability to work across teams and build and maintain good relationships.
