Lead Technical Architect

Permanent position based in Swansea OR Bristol - £49,835 - £60,649 + you may be eligible to receive an allowance of up to £15,000 depending on skills and experience

Do you have strong leadership capabilities and a proven track record of delivering complex technical end to end solutions? Our Lead Technical Architects work as part of IT Service Creation to design and deliver high quality solutions that meet Business Requirements and help drive the Agency to become a leader in Digital Services.

We are building new services, designing them from direct customer engagement, moving away from our legacy technology onto new, cloud-based platforms utilising modern technologies. To do this, we are currently shaping and delivering around 40-50 projects of varying size, risk and complexity to pave the way for future business and service transformation.

Person Overview

You will be familiar with modern software engineering and DevOps practises in delivering cloud-based solutions. Your experience will be centred on owning and delivering complex technical solutions covering multiple technologies. Ideally you will have solid data security experience, secure by design for protecting large amounts of sensitive data. You will be required to have excellent technical skills with the experience to be held accountable for technical aspects of delivering complex solutions, including end-to-end solution design, delivery governance, assurance and support for Engineers and Delivery Managers.

You will have strong stakeholder management skills along with exceptional communication ability. You will be able to drive discussions with senior leaders across the agency as well as having the technical background that will enable you to easily interact and give guidance to software developers, testers and engineers. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

You will have a good understanding of a Domain Driven approach to application design. By creating and maintaining Domain Designs in an iterative and collaborative manner you will be able to demonstrate your capability to work with Business Stakeholders, Analysts and Software Engineers to deliver successful software outcomes.

* Executive speaking and presentation skills - Formal presentations, white boarding, large and small group presentations is highly desired
