Microsoft Technical Consultant

£30,000 - £40,000 DOE + Training, Certificates, Pension, Health

40 per week

We have an exciting opportunity with a top solutions provider who are looking for a Microsoft expert to join the team. You will be working in both a project and support environment acting as the point of escalation for Microsoft technology and working with the project team to create solutions.

Your responsibilities

* Project plan development

* Project schedule development

* Prepare technical plans and execution of plan to completion with customer acceptance

* Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies

* Document all project work to a high standard

* Assist with post-installation issues where requires

* Assistance with solution design to support the organisation with new client needs and requirements.

* Core knowledge including installation and fault diagnosis of software and hardware including Microsoft 2012R2 including all server roles eg. Active Directory, WSUS, IIS Web Services, HyperV, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange 2013, Microsoft SharePoint 2013, Cisco ASA security appliances, Juniper Security Appliances, Linux, HP Blade Hardware, HP and Dell Physical servers.

* A good knowledge of network skills such as routing and access rules is desirable.

* Research of new technologies and development of migration strategies.

* Excellent knowledge of office 365

* Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 to 2016

* Virtualisation; Microsoft Hyper-V

* LAN / WAN technologies and connectivity

* Firewalls / switching / routing

* Backup technologies

* Other cloud based technologies
