Our client, a leading Financial Services company are looking for a Project Manager for an exciting projectr due to expansion. Financial Services experience is preferred esspecially in the fields of fund/asset management and investments.

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, leading, organising, and motivating agile or waterfall project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering projects that provide exceptional business value to users. As a Project Manager you may be responsible for managing a number of concurrent high visibility projects using agile or more traditional methods in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business divisions and third parties.

* Leading and managing large, complex, enterprise-level projects consisting of multiple Agile or Waterfall teams and/or requiring integration with other activities outside the scope of the Agile teams.

* Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, project objectives are met and desired results achieved, resources are utilised efficiently, and different interests and stakeholders involved are satisfied.

Requirements for the role & Duties:

Project Planning and Management - Define project scope and schedule while focussing on regular and timely delivery of value, organise and lead project status and working meetings, prepare and distribute progress reports, manage risks and issues, identify deviations from scope/time/budget boundaries and take remedial actions, perform delivery planning for assigned projects, manage stakeholder communications, and help implement an effective system of project governance.

* Initiation Stage Support - Supporting the initiation of large complex projects through discovery, tender, high level requirements/epics production, business value and business case construction, alongside confirming business/organisation objectives and goals.

* Team Management - Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work, leveraging organisational resources to improve capacity for project work, mentoring and developing team members.

* Design Team / Product Owner/ Business Analyst Support - Support the Design Team, Product Owner, or Business Analyst in managing customer expectations for project deliverables.

* Process Management and Improvement - Define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile and Waterfall Project Management

* Team building - Where the project is working within an agile framework work with the scrum masters to promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team. Where the project is working in a waterfall environment ensure the resources have clear description of their role, responsibilities, and what they are expected to contribute and deliver to a project

* Resource Management - Working with Practice Managers to ensure the correct number of resources are planned in for the project, and specialists and consultants are contracted and company guidelines are maintained

* Budget Control- Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing of projects.

Qualifications and experience:

A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies including 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams

* Experience overseeing multi-function project teams including Developers, User Experience, Business Analysts, and QA/Tester

* Experience in financial services in strongly desirable (ideally in fund management, asset management, platform service provider).

* Experience delivering solutions for web and mobile applications is desirable.

* PMP, Prince II, Agile Project Manager, CSM Certifications

Skills Required:

* Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.

* Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.

* Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence.

* Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met.

* Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools:

* Agile Project Management tools i.e. Jira, TFS, Target Process

* Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools

* Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level.

* Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the "big picture" view.
