Linux System Administrator - £45k - £55k

Bermondsey, Southwark

Our client operates in the creative market industry, with showrooms across the globe. Having established one of their largest sites in Bermondsey, they are looking to recruit for a System Administrator join a close-knit team of 5.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Manage the Windows and Anti-virus update systems to ensure security updates are pushed to clients in a timely manner

Configure new Cisco networking equipment (layer 2 and 3 switches, firewalls and wireless LAN controller) at all UK sites and test for faults

-Install and configure new Windows and Linux servers and services

-Label cables and equipment and install such equipment in to the system racks

-Patch and maintain all the servers, containers and applications deployed in the network

-Assist with the public website and help develop integration with internal systems

-Develop the internal inventory system running on a LAMP stack in PHP

-Manage the backup system and make sure backups complete successfully

-Test the generator weekly and manage full load testing every 6 months

-Manage the network monitoring system and make improvements

-Manage and maintain the puppet configuration management system and write new modules to bring more services and systems under central control

-Research and develop new services and management systems to improve the computer system through automation

-Produce and maintain the documentation for the system and network

-Consult with technicians and artists with art works involving IT

-Provide support for colleagues and the team during staff absence

-

-Assist with 2nd and 3rd line support issues passed on by the helpdesk and manage these tickets to resolution
