Systems Developer

Location: Central Bristol

Sector: Renewable Energy Asset Management

This company was set up in February 2013 to build, own and operate renewable energy sites around the UK and has since expanded overseas to the US. They currently manage 24 operational sites with more in development. They are looking for an experienced and adaptable Systems Developer to join their small and very capable Bristol team.

About the Role:

Working as part of the Asset Management team, you will play a crucial role in taking their IT capabilities to a new level. They have some big new renewables projects on their horizon so while keeping their current systems secure and performing well, they need evolving with your initiative to integrate whatever infrastructure is needed to get the data flowing from the new generation sites.

Working to ensure reliable systems and tools are implemented, from data gathering, storage and post processing will be essential to the effective and efficient management of their portfolio of renewable power plants. Their warehouse of operating data is growing fast and they need new and innovative ways to automate and analyse this valuable resource - they will ask you to lead this development.

Skills & Requirements

Essential:

- Strong MySQL / MSSQL query skills.

- Familiarity with MySQL / MSSQL database administration

- Good working knowledge of VB.net

- Excellent communication - able to relay ideas and present solutions in a clear and engaging manner.

- Excellent teamwork skills and able to work independently / minimal supervision.

- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Creative troubleshooting of all aspect of IT systems.

- Good Excel data analysis / VB Script.

Desirable:

- Python scripting.
