Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a User Researcher for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.£450-£550/day (inside of IR35) based in Edinburgh.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for planning, managing and carrying out a wide variety of user research activities.

* Plan and carry out user-centered design research.

* Manage team members appropriately - managing resource scheduling, assuring quality, providing coaching and mentoring and encouraging engagement in the User Research community.

* Advocate and carry out rigorous data analysis using appropriate analytical tools and approaches.

* Communicate research findings and influence decision making at project level.

* Embed user-centred design thinking within teams by providing guidance on existing methods and tools, and creating new tools.

Requirements:

* Experience in a digital service design setting, designing and delivering a wide range of user-centred design research including: developing research plans, carrying out research and delivering actionable insights.

* Ability to choose and apply appropriate user-centred design research methods (from data gathering to synthesis and analysis) for different design life cycle phases and situations.

* Ability to deliver actionable user insights, working with and influencing design and delivery teams to ensure that these are embedded in user-centred design thinking.?

* Ability to develop successful, strategic relationships with colleagues, citizens, users, and other stakeholders based upon a commitment to collaborative working towards improved performance and results.

* Knowledge about how to ensure research activities and tools used are as inclusive and accessible as they can be for both users and teams.

* Experience of working with designers and digital systems developers to critique and develop design thinking based on evidence of user needs.

* Public sector experience is highly advantageous.
