Lead Engineer required on a permanent basis to work out of the vibrant London office. The successful Lead Engineer must have demonstrable knowledge and experience of working in Windows Server environments with strong experience with SQL and Virtualisation (including Hyper-V, VMware, Virtualbox. Good networking and routing knowledge - OSI network layers, TCP/IP, BGP etc.

This is a permanent role offering circa £45 - £55k + benefits.

The job

** To ensure group technology systems are specified, designed, delivered and run as effectively as possible.

** To work on a wide range of projects that improve business performance and user experience through an evolving use of technology.

** Involved in the complete project lifecycle from conceptualisation to delivery including transition to BAU support teams.

** Although the role is primarily project orientated the Technical Architect will be part of the 3rd-line escalation team.

** To evaluate and implement appropriate software or hardware solutions and ensure integration with existing systems.

** Collaborate with internal teams and 3rd party suppliers and partners to ensure projects are delivered in line with time, budget and technical expectations.

** Ability to translate complex business requirements in to functional solutions.

Essential Skills

** In depth technical knowledge is required and a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar is desired or equivalent hands on experience in systems development, programming etc.

** Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Windows Server environments with SQL.

** Ability to design and deploy functional networks; configure and install servers, software, routers, switches.

** Solid experience of AWS, Terraform, Puppet.

** Experience with virtualisation including Hyper-V, VMware, Virtualbox Good networking and routing knowledge - OSI network layers, TCP/IP, BGP etc

** Experience with monitoring systems - Logic Monitor, PRTG

** Solid scripting skills - PowerShell, shell scripts

** Experience in writing and maintaining API integrations would be beneficial but not essential

** Problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining rigorous attention to detail.

** Stay up to date with current and emerging technologies.

** Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
