Our client is an integrated service provider that designs and delivers a range of Fire Protection Sprinklers Projects. These include dry risers, hose reels and pre-calculated hazard sprinkler systems including installations, extensions and alterations and base build type contracts.

Fostering a fast-moving and team-oriented environment, you will have the chance to help shape a highly-skilled team and play a key role in the successful delivery of company projects.

As the Design Manager, you will oversee the design aspects of our client’s fire protection projects.

Specifically, you’ll ensure that all product designs comply with LPCB 1048 requirements and act as a quality assurance function for developed products.

Your duties will involve:

- Coaching, mentoring and supporting your team

- Ensuring projects are delivered using safe methods of work

- Overseeing LPC audits throughout the project lifecycle

- Helping to monitor and control schedule and cost forecasts

- Supporting the Project Manager with the generation of proposals and cost estimates for change requests

- Writing reports and producing high quality design documentation

To be considered, you will need:

- Previous experience as a design engineer

- Advanced AutoCAD skills

- Knowledge of BS EN 12845 Standards

- The ability to manage the LPCB 1048 Design Compliance Assurance scheme

- A comprehensive understanding of cost management, including methods for monitoring, controlling and estimating project costs

- A degree or equivalent LPCB 1048 qualification in FHC Design Competence
