Senior SQL Server Database Administrator

An organisation based near Reading are seeking a Senior SQL Server DBA with expertise in Production DBA duties to join their team in response to growth and success of the team. You'll be working in a team of around 10 DBA's working on a range of SQL Server versions from 2005-2017 + Azure, for a large number of clients across the UK and Europe.

You'll be an expert in Production Database Administration duties in SQL Server, including, but not limted to; Installations, upgrades, Performance Tuning, Disaster Recovery, Delivering High Availability, Permissions/Access and Security. As part of the role you'll work on problems ranging from quick fixes to highly complex issues, so will be given a different challlenge every day.

Your duties will also include guiding and mentoring Junior DBA's in their role, in an environment where knowledge-sharing and education is championed. As you're working in a customer-facing role, excellent written and verbal English are a prerequisite.

Key Skills include:

- Expertise in SQL Server Database Administration (usually gained after 5 or more years in a Production DBA Role)

- Expertise in Performance Tuning, Installation/Migrations, Disaster Recovery and delivering High Availability

- Experience in Service Desk Environment and working with ticketing systems

- Excellent customer facing skills (written and verbal)

This is a Permanent Role offering a package of up to £60,000 per year including on-call (working 1 week in 4 on-call), as well as a bonus, awesome benefits and access to the latest versions of SQL Server before GA Release. MS Certification training is also provided as standard to get your Certifications up to to date.
