SQL Database Engineer

The successful candidate will be joining the Hosting and Environments team with responsibility for resolving infrastructure support issues, maintaining and managing the overall performance and availability of the systems

Principle Responsibilities

- Developing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery plans

- Install, configure, patch and support SQL Server databases

- Implement database maintenance plans

- Monitoring, optimizing, troubleshooting and performance tuning

- Strong problem management and analysis skills

- Design, develop and implement complex database systems

Essential:

- 5+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required

- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools

- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models

- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server

- Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory

- MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus

Desirable:

- MCSE with SQL

- VCP

- Very strong attention to detail.

- Excellent analytical & problem solving skills.
