Test Engineer (SC Cleared) required on a permanent basis for a leading global security company with offices in Portsmouth. The successful test Engineer will need to hold a valid SC Clearance and have proven experience as a tester in both manual testing and test automation. The ideal candidate will have experience with Jenkins, JIRA, Agile and Kanban Methodologies

How you will make a difference

We are looking for an expert test engineer to join the engineering team in Fareham. You will be part of the team, responsible for a suite of Command and Control software applications that are in use operationally in countries throughout the world.

Self-motivated, curious and inventive in identifying issues that affect the quality of software applications, you will work as part of a team to build a software release that is reliable, resilient, and meets the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

** Own the execution of test and acceptance activities as directed by the Test Lead.

** Understand project requirements, to analyse and design appropriate test cases and scenarios.

** Provide test engineering experience and knowledge to the software engineer teams.

** Take responsibility for the pursuit of best practice for software testing across the team.

** Help with the test engineering work towards automated testing.

Key criteria required...

** Engineering based Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent

** Proven experience as a tester in both manual testing and test automation

** Experience with user interface and interoperability testing

** Experience of writing detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test cases

** Able to conduct requirements analysis to derive detailed test cases

** Able to execute manual tests, including exploratory and directed regression testing

** Identify, record and thoroughly document bugs

** Knowledge of a variety of testing methodologies and quality techniques

Experience in an engineering environment using:

** Jenkins

** JIRA, Agile and Kanban Methodologies

** Java, Eclipse, Visual Studio

Also, we’d love it if you have...

** Experience in the design, development and execution of automation scripts using open source tools

** Hands on experience with automation tools/languages/methods:

** Python/Robot

** Gherkin/Cucumber

** Selenium Webdriver

** JMeter (Web Service Testing)

** SOAPUI

** Integration of test tools into the automated build process.

** Reviewing code, unit tests and test data, to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Fareham is a market town at the north-west tip of Portsmouth Harbour, between the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton in the south east of Hampshire. Good Transport links To South West England and a direct train link into London.
