Technical Architect

We are recruiting across Government and looking for Technical Architects!

£50k -£60k (London), £50k to £55k (National) (depending on skills and experience) + discretionary allowance may be available dependant on the department. Internal loan T’s & C’s apply for Civil Service applicants

The Government Digital Service (GDS) is collaborating with a number of organisations to hire Technical Architects with a strong background in (NAME THE SKILL) and demonstrable leadership skills.

The role

As a Technical Architect you will be responsible for the design and build of technical architecture, undertaking structured analysis of technical issues, translating this into technical designs that describe a solution. You will be consulted on design and can provide design patterns, identify deeper issues to fix and look for opportunities to collaborate and reuse components. You will have strong demonstrable experience in communicating with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

In this role you will work collaboratively, with both internal and cross government stakeholders. You should have a deep understanding of agile delivery methods and be comfortable challenging the status quo. You’ll have a good understanding of a broad range of technologies but each department we are hiring for requires specific technology stacks (please see department specification here).
