Our client is the charity that saves lives at sea. They are looking for two IT Infrastructure Designers to join their growing IT Solutions team. This is an exciting opportunity and you will be responsible for business engagement, translating business requirements into technical solution designs and providing technical ownership of solutions from the design phase through to production.

You'll create technology roadmaps that support the IT Strategy and ensure technology solutions on which our client’s business depends are fit for purpose, resilient, highly available, secure, and scalable. The role includes architecture governance, co-ordination and translation of business requirements, design, planning, configuration, optimisation and enhancement of the technology and system platforms.

This is the ideal role for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career from support/project work to design.

Responsibilities

- Given a set of business requirements, create an infrastructure design which meets the requirements and is in line with the Technology Development Infrastructure roadmap. Specific business non-functional requirements will include performance, security, reliability and availability of service

- You’ll need to ensure that infrastructure solutions proposed by third party suppliers meet business and technical requirements and the company’s strategy and vision for the future initiatives.

- Analyse the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies in the infrastructure and recommend solutions for improvement

- Develop and define future roadmaps for the infrastructure according to industry trends and best practice

- Perform infrastructure audits on third party contractors. These will include asset management, disaster recovery and servicing of the infrastructure.

What our client is looking for from you:

- Technical experience of two or more Microsoft stack technologies (Active Directory, Exchange, SCCM, Desktop and Server Operating Systems or SQL Server)

- Experience of infrastructure solutions design and implementation, preferably in a primarily Microsoft based environment

- Proven experience of achieving results by working collaboratively with others at all levels of seniority

- Technical experience of one or more Cloud Technologies (Azure, Office 365, Intune and AWS)

- A recognised Microsoft or Cisco qualification or equivalent experience

- A Levels (or equivalent)

Ideally, you’ll have an ITIL Foundation qualification, but this isn’t essential.

If you have the necessary qualities, skills and experience, and want to be part of an organisation where your efforts will help save even more lives, then our client would love to hear from you.

The closing date for applications is the 18th June 2018.

Our client’s staff and volunteers have been saving lives at sea without prejudice for nearly 200 years. They respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within their teams, and consider it essential to help deliver a world-class lifesaving service. They are an inclusive organisation and welcome applications from everyone. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, they also look for applicants who share their commitment to living their values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping them work towards their goals of halving drowning in the UK and Ireland by 2024. This involves a growing commitment to preventative action, using expertise to work in partnership with communities locally, nationally and internationally to prevent drowning.
