Nowadays, more and more organisations are developing Software with a Mobile-first strategy as the world becomes more and more open to accessing content on the go.

This organisation are at the forefront of that strategy and are looking to recruit an experienced Mobile Developer with a background developing Android applications.

The company in question are a global enterprise in the financial services and banking space, recognised as one of Europe's largest banking organisations and with a global footprint spanning multiple continents. They are based in the heart of Manchester (commuteable from both Victoria and Piccadilly) and have recently purchased some plush new offices, hence their need to recruit.

This position itself is hybrid, with a dual focus on hands on programming and wider responsibilities such as stakeholder management, Mobile architecture (Android, Java), technical leadership and research. You will act as a technical escalation point within their Mobile function, working on greenfield projects whilst ensuring the support and maintenance of legacy applications.

You will be working on one of the organisation's flagship products, supporting the existing technology stack whilst also developing a range of new features that look to improve the service it delivers to its customers. The projects will be enterprise-scale and you will get the chance to truly put your stamp on the technology roadmap.

From a technological standpoint, the role's core focus will lie with Android / Kotlin / Java, but you will also be working with Azure, AWS, JIRA, Git and Confluence. Moreover, you will be working within a Microservices architecture and with REST APIs, using a clean code approach to ensue products are delivered to the highest possible level of quality.

The development environment is heavily Agile, with a wider focus on Test Driven Development (JUnit) for the UI-heavy applications and DevOps processes. This role will give you ample autonomy to get involved in the technical direction of their mobile strategy and any input on both technology and process will be hugely welcomed.
