Business Lead

Purpose of role:

As a senior manager, you will work with the Workstream Lead to represent the business stakeholders in a significant transformation programme. You will assure the delivery of new capability into the business, in line with business strategy, ensuring that the business agenda is represented and that the change is embedded and adopted successfully.

The Business Lead is the owner of the project, with overall accountability for its successful delivery and realisation of benefit in to the business - as such the Business Lead will own the creation of the Business Case and ensure the project delivers against this. This is a significant leadership role which grows with size and complexity of the project. You will drive the project and ensure it aligns with the business strategy and the work stream roadmap. This role will provide direction, leadership and support for successful design and implementation of the project and its outputs, championing the project at senior management level across the business, securing buy-in and support.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

?Working closely with the Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering highly complex change initiatives into our Supply Chain team.

?The Business Lead / Business PM will work with the Workstream Lead, Programme Manager and Finance Team to identify benefits for a project, define the baseline for measurements and develop a benefit realisation plan.

?The Business Lead / Business PM will act as a champion for the project in the business, ensuring adoption and embedding of the change.

?Working closely with the Test Manager and Change Manager, you will be responsible for leading User Acceptance Testing.

?Working closely with the Change Manager, you will be responsible for defining the business cutover plan and confirming business readiness to accept the change.

?Working with the Project Manager, Change Manager and the workstream's senior leadership, you will develop and manage a resourcing model that ensures the right mix and quantity of business resources/SMEs are engaged on the project throughout its lifecycle.

?As part of the project's management team, ensure all project risks and issues are identified and properly communicated and managed, working with PMO, Internal Audit and the Project Manager to develop mitigations and resolutions.

?Ensure the business resources assigned to the project understand their roles, remit and authority and operate according to defined project and delivery processes and governance

?Work with the Change Management team to develop and deliver a business communications plan across a complex stakeholder landscape to set and manage realistic expectations.

?Actively work to identify and manage key business and process dependencies for the project(s).

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

?Extensive experience of Supply Chain operations management

?Experience of delivery significant change initiatives into retail Supply Chain teams.

?Extensive experience of working within a structured project management approach e.g. PMP, Prince2 or equivalent

?Experience of contributing to project discovery and definition workshops.

?Proven ability to plan and organise large numbers of individuals and teams from multiple organisations in order to achieve objectives and targets

?Ability to identify and manage issues and risks in a structured way

?Ability to contribute to Vendor Performance Reviews.

?Experience of operating with a high level of autonomy and the ability to manage others delivery to agreed timescales

?Assimilates, evaluates, adapts and makes best use of new information

?Excellent planning and organisation skills

?Understanding of supply chain solutions and best practice processes, preferably in retail environments. Able to propose approaches to gain incremental improvements and to improve the value delivered by selected solutions.
