Our client, a leading financial services company are expanding rapidly and so now require a Solutions Architect on a long term contract basis.We are now looking to speak with proven Solution Architects for this exciting role; which is full of accountability, pace, visibility and challenge and one that will push you and give you a tremendous opportunity.
Working as part of an engaged and talented team, as a Solution Architect, you will be accountable for the full end-to-end cross-system design for significant projects, by developing solution architecture to get best value for money for what we build and make the right decisions to protect it against future challenges.
Role purpose
* Producing quality designs that address the requirements of the business, give good value, and advance the architecture by following agreed strategies, principles, technology patterns, and governance frameworks
* Guiding investment into the right areas, ensuring a consistent approach, aligning business and technical leads to deliver
* Accurately defining solution architecture and ensuring the integrity of solutions throughout lifecycle
* Ensuring all solutions are aligned to strategic objectives, whilst remaining cost effective and future proofed
* Providing day to day guidance and timely technical decision making during the design phase of the project
* Providing early engagement guidance on feasibility, possible options and alternatives in order to shape projects for prioritisation and successful delivery
* Analysing solution requirements for additional opportunities working closely with the project manager, analyst and other stakeholders
* Encouraging and enabling re-use of design artefacts and solution elements
Skills, Knowledge and qualifications
* Must have experience designing or developing solutions predominantly based on commercial off the shelf technology in medium/large corporations with typically 10 years` experience in this discipline
* Financial Services exposure
* Familiarity with end to end application delivery lifecycle and methodologies in medium/large enterprises
* Ability to quickly pick up new technologies, business areas and methodologies
* Ability to relate on both the technical and business level and use effective communication styles suited to the audience
* Experience of working with systems integrators to deliver strategic programmes
* Experience of working on solutions involving CRM, ERP or other equivalent packages plus knowledge of integration and infrastructure, ideally "cloud"
* Knowledge of design methodologies such as OO, SSADM, SCRUM
* Experience of designing solutions incorporating cloud components
* Knowledge of data architecture and analysis methods
* Architectural thinking and governance
* Business & IT strategy roadmaps and operating models
