Enterprise Software Development Manager

The Enterprise Software Development Manager will be responsible for providing bespoke software, applications and integrations for the client.

The post holder must be able to act as a technical lead for a team of developers and should be an expert practitioner with several years experience of leading on complex projects in a heterogeneous environment, someone who is capable of architecting solutions that are robust and that scale.

The role requires the post holder to actively participate in project development and around 50% of the role will be actual software development.

The Enterprise Software Development Manager will use their expertise in Agile methods to work with key stakeholders, both leadership and domain experts, to ensure the software developed by the team matches business requirements.

The post holder will need to demonstrate subject expertise in a broad variety of technologies, patterns and frameworks. They should have a deep understanding of at least one programming language, Agile methods, estimating and planning along with broad product knowledge and market awareness.

Skill and Knowledge:

- 3 years experience in applications architecture and design

- At least 5 years experience of Java application development

- HTML

- XML

- XSLT

- Certified Scrum Master

- BDD

- TDD

- Spring

- Groovy

- Grails

- At least three years experience management of development projects

- At least 3 years experience of authoring high quality technical documentation

- Experience of using a standardised project management methodology such as PRINCE2

- A good first degree of equivalent

- previous experience of liaising with stakeholders

- Extensive knowledge of development of client/server and web applications

- Experience of resource planning

- Solid Experience of budget management

- Experience of application lifecycle management
