About the role

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our growing team to provide maintenance and support of the Trust’s systems that run both on premise and in the cloud (Azure). The systems infrastructure includes multiple datacentres, VMware vSphere 6 environment, fibre switches, multiple SAN’s, load balancers, multiple tier 1,2 and 3 systems and services. Reporting to the IT Systems Manager, you will work alongside the Desktop, Comms and Support Desk teams to deliver first-class support services to the Trust.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, experienced and ambitious Systems Engineer to drive improvements in the IT team while maintaining SLAs, OLAs and KPIs using ITIL V3 principles. You will provide BAU technical support to issues escalated from the Service Desk, ensuring issues are handled and resolved correctly, and escalating to Sr. Systems Engineers or reporting key developments as necessary, and will also be involved in project work, working alongside IT Systems Manager or IT Project Manager to deliver relevant projects and initiatives.

About you

You will already be operating at an advanced technical level within an IT environment and therefore have highly technical and relevant experience covering Windows Server 2008 and 2012, Office 365, VMware, SAN and Networking concepts. You will have excellent communication skills and will be a self-motivated individual who is capable of working autonomously. Educated to an appropriate degree level - or with equivalent experience - you should be certified to VMware, MCSE or MCSA in Cloud Platform & Infrastructure (Azure), with other relevant certifications being highly desirable.
