About the role

We are looking for an IT Systems Manager to join our growing department to manage and develop our Systems Team. You will report to the Sr. IT Operations Manager and be responsible for managing and leading a team of 4 Systems Engineers. Working alongside the Desktop Team Manager, Comms Team Manager and Support Desk Manager you will jointly deliver a first-class IT support function to the Trust.

You’ll help identify and prioritise IT Operational projects and plan, manage and deliver them whilst ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed and up to date on progress, milestones and estimated completion dates. This includes technically supervising any resources assigned and dedicated to the project as agreed with the Senior IT Operations Manager.

About You

Experience of managing people and teams is a prerequisite. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with clinical service managers to provide technical advice to improve the efficiency of the Trust’s services, acting as an escalation point for all technical/non-technical issues and taking ownership through to resolution, working closely with team members. You will also participate in the change control process to ensure all changes are applied to live environment in a controlled manner.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious manager to drive improvements in the IT team while maintaining SLAs, OLAs and KPIs using ITIL V3 principles. You will already be operating at an advanced technical level within an ICT environment and therefore have relevant management and technical experience. You will be educated to appropriate degree level or have suitable equivalent experience. Certified to VMware or MCSE or MCSA in Cloud Platform & Infrastructure (Azure), Prince2 and a ITIL qualification or equivalent experience is essential, with other relevant certifications being highly desirable.
