Senior Systems Manager - Liverpool - Circa. £60K

Job brief

As a Senior Systems Manager you will be building, developing, troubleshooting and maintaining the expanding infrastructure.

You will be assisting in the design and implementation of NOC.

You will be contributing to the design of the systems architecture.

You will be leading a team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security for our digital on-line business.

Responsibilities

* Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, databases, application software and system management tools to an agreed configuration and follow the current Governance and Change control processes

* Proactively manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.

* Be the lead internal consultant on capacity management

* Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies

* Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and automate tasks, also utilise automation technology when required.

Requirements

* Experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Linux, Centos and Windows based environments

* Experience of supporting and knowledgeable with regard the HPE density-optimised server products

* Proprietary and Private Cloud experience, including capacity management

* A proven architect on virtualization, containerization and orchestration (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box, Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher) technologies

* Good experience with AD design & support, O365 service from front to back end.

* Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of web application stacks (e.g., JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX) including NLB, caching and optimisation.
