DV Cleared Chief Engineer/Architect to be based in Erskine on a 3 Month contract. Experienced Chief Engineer / Architect to lead other engineers in the delivery of complex enterprise technical solutions.

Job Title - DV Cleared Chief Engineer/Architect

Location - Erskine

Rate - £ 70 per hour

Duration - 3 Months

Scope and Complexity

* Leads other engineers and architects in the delivery of complex enterprise technical solutions

* Leads technically significant work on enterprise scale projects such as large project/programs involving multiple disciplines, technologies, multi-geographies, and business units.

* Regularly leads large cross functional teams to include technical management of client staff assigned to implementation team in the completion of one or more solution requirements, architecture, or implementation deliverables that are fit for live operations.

* Provides the technical direction required to resolve complex issues to ensure the on-time delivery of solutions that meet customer expectations. May need to develop new methods to apply to situations.

* Usually responsible for approving a detailed technical design for enterprise solutions.

* Leads production of proposals, working across DXC departments, for complex customer solution

* Works in the more complex disciplines in which the company must operate to be successful.

* Usually the Principal Consultant who analyses and develops enterprise technology solutions.

* Unique mastery and recognized expertise on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories, or techniques.

* Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objective

* Often leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives

* Creates and supports sales activities assuming overall leadership for sales activities for specific aspect, and ensures owners of activities have clear direction. Provides strategies, ideas, and collateral for sales.

* Maintains and develops client engagements which are strategic.

* Ability to relate risks and challenges with other client efforts

* Ability to develop detailed work breakdown structures.

* Ability to develop Architecture Specification deliverables that map customer business requirements to technologies.

* Develops strategy and sets functional policy and direction.

* Often directs and supervises within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function.

* Often participates in cross-division, multi-function teams.

* Provides mentoring and guidance to employees at lower job levels including the ability to lead, coach and mentor others in consulting skills.

* Provides council and mentoring to team members, and extends teamwork beyond projects to practices and cross-GBU

* Regularly contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas and provides highly innovative solutions.

Knowledge and Skills

* Must be a self-starter who can think laterally with good problem solving skills both technically and for business issues who can communicate complex technical ideas in a straightforward way. You are able to engage strongly with both internal and external stakeholders across various levels. You are confident in working in a multi-cultural environment and matrix organisations. You will show ability to work in a dynamic environment managing multiple and changing priorities.

* Master level experience in decomposing large complex problems into component parts for skill centre engineering as well as having the ability to provide and contribute in the following areas : Project High Level Requirements; High-level Functional and Logical Architecture; Detailed Designs for all solutions; build, test, implementation and integration activities.

* 9 years' experience of technical leadership or technical authority roles and 6+ years of technical expertise in an appropriate infrastructure area such as virtualization, workplace services or storage.

* Understanding / experience in working with infrastructure integration processes and technology to a Master level.

* Master level experience of IT solutioning / integration on large IT programmes.

* Excellent client facing experience.

* Master level of knowledge of existing and emerging enterprise level infrastructure technologies is required.

* Proven experience to a Master level in the integration and delivery of technology solutions with good technical documentation skills and a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.

* Must have a good attention to detail and be prepared to work as part of a geographically dispersed team.

* Capability to convey complex information via an approach that is able to be understood by the customer.

* Experience / knowledge of ITIL V3, ITSA, Legacy Integration methodologies, exposure / understanding of Six Sigma, awareness of project management practice and methodology to an Master level.

* Enabling the solution design process in a collaborative manner with the teams, and ensuring that the solution is fit for purpose and will be easy to maintain.

* Provide overall estimate and plans covering all technical aspects of infrastructure projects and/or service using defined Bills of Labour/Materials.

* Provide effective technical and business communication to the leadership and to the Project Engineers including reporting technical status of projects on a weekly basis to the engineering team developing team members and ensuring that all engineers working on the project understand their deliverables.

* Assisting with addressing and resolving technical issues, mitigating technical risks and escalating to the relevant forums.

* Understanding of existing enterprise assets such as frameworks, patterns and sub-systems and ensure that the team uses them where appropriate to enable implementation of standards based solutions for the Account.

* Supports the solution design process in a collaborative manner with the teams, and ensures that the solution is fit for purpose.
