Performance Test Engineer- 3 Months- London-Gaming- £500-600 p/d

My client is one of the biggest names in the Gaming industry and are looking for a high quality Performance Test Engineer. Below is a detailed job description of the requirments my client is looking for.

QA (Quality Assurance) are responsible for the overall quality and testing architecture of our products that our department produces. We use a range of innovative front-end and back-end tools & technology to drive robust, well-engineered practices through to delivery, giving the business that sort after confidence. Consisting of Test Architects, Performance Test Engineers and QA Engineers, we have a deeply embedded culture of collaboration, sharing our experiences and skills throughout.

Purpose of the role

The Performance Test Engineer would take on some of the responsibilities of the current Performance Test Engineer, ensuring that performance testing is carried out across our many services/products.

You, as the Performance Test Engineer will be tasked with going into the scrum teams, working closely with Developers and QAs to performance test stories before they are release to production. This will include requirements gathering, Test Script creation all the way through to execution.

You will be using Visual Studio's Performance Testing Suite to create Test Scripts and execute Load Tests, which will allow you to generate reports for the SCRUM teams and determine how these stories impact the performance of our products.

The Performance Test Engineer position will involve the following areas of responsibility:

* Working within scrum teams to provide performance benchmarks

* Ability to manage stress effectively whilst working to short deadlines

* Integrate performance testing into our development lifecycle

* Identify and investigate potential performance degradation in the code

* Implement best practices for performance testing

* Identify the key metrics for measuring performance and generate reports based off them

* Work with the SCRUM teams to improve their knowledge of performance tests

You will have:

* Previous experience as a dedicated performance tester

* Proven C# experience

* Proven experience performance testing .Net Web Applications, Web Services

* Experience of setting up the performance tests from requirements gathering to test execution

* Ability to produce reports based of test results

* Ability to coordinate test runs which require multi-department co-operation

* Experience coding load test scripts (not record and playback)

It would beneficial if you also had:

* Experience in Continuous Integration/Delivery

* Experience working with JSON

* Experience using Jira

* Experience working in Scrum

* Experience working with build & deployment tools i.e. TeamCity / Octopus Deploy

* Experience with Elasticsearch

* Experience with Visual Studio as a Performance Testing Tool

* Be very organized and able to define and follow processes strictly

* Be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication
