Our client have an excellent 2nd / 3rd Line Engineer position available for anyone looking for a new challenge in their career. Ideally the 2nd / 3rd Line Engineer candidate will be looking to progress from a Help / Service Desk 2nd line support type role into more expansive 3rd line role. Our client are a leading IT security firm who handle network and infrastructure support for some large clients in the UK. The 2nd / 3rd Line Engineer will be joining a highly technical team in a new role designed with career progression and development in mind. If you’re a tech-lover with some good commercial experience providing support (infrastructure / service / helpdesk) then this 2nd / 3rd Line Engineer position may be the next great step in your career!
The 2nd / 3rd Line Engineer / Infrastructure Support Analyst will be joining the Technical Networking team in a friendly and collaborative working environment. Experience in virtualization, network support and providing 2nd / 3rd line support solutions is needed. In return for your efforts, the 2nd / 3rd Line Engineer will enjoy excellent training and career prospects as well as the opportunity to gain valuable industry qualifications.
Essential skills/experience included in this role:
2nd line (some 3rd line) problem management and solving
Strong understanding of networking including TCP/IP
Configuring Firewalls, Switches and Routers
Active Directory and group policy troubleshooting
Virtualization troubleshooting with VMware and/or Hyper-V
Basic Linux administration and troubleshooting.
Desirable skills/experience
Experience of working in secure environments
Scripting and Automation with PowerShell, vbscript or batch file
SCCM 2012
Studying for industry recognized networking qualifications
Experience of monitoring and trend analysis tools
Experience/Qualification in an ITIL orientated environment
Deployment/support/configuration of Open Source tools
Automated software distribution.
