This post provides an exciting opportunity for you to play a key role working within our Communications Team and with our shared ICT service (Strata Service Solutions Ltd) to meet the changing needs and expectations of our customers as well as supporting our evolving business model. We aim to innovate to achieve greater levels of income and increased efficiencies across our diverse range of services.

Working within our Organisational Development service and reporting to the Communications and Public Affairs Manager, the Digital Services Officer will be responsible for a variety of digital projects from managing and creating content for our website and intranet, to reporting analytics to help inform our decision making. You will be pivotal in evolving our digital content to maximise opportunities to get our message out there and to engage with our customers, businesses, partners and stakeholders; you will also provide support and training for our web authors to help them develop and maintain their own digital content in line with gov.uk principles, as well as working with IT to manage the structure of the content management system used by the council. Going forward you will also play a vital role in supporting services with the implementation of a new digital services platform and the redesign of on-line services to ensure that our customers can easily access council services where and when they want to.

Using your creative, social media and digital skills, you’ll also play a key role in the rapid design and development of new digital solutions to support a variety of campaigns, marketing and income generation initiatives, events and services.

You will have demonstrable technical proficiency and a successful track record in web and intranet content design and management as well as experience of designing customer journeys for on-line services. You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills as well as the ability to meet deadlines and solve

East Devon District Council has decided to relocate away from its current headquarters in Sidmouth. This position will be based at Sidmouth until new offices in Honiton become operational during the latter part of 2018.

Interviews will take place on 2nd and 3rd July.
