An excellent opportunity has just opened up for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (3rd / 4th line) to join our client based near Swindon. This new Senior Infrastructure Engineer position will see the successful candidate working within the IT / Cyber Security industry, an area of technology that is currently booming! The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is a vital and senior position that involves the design, delivery and support of key, robust infrastructure solutions. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer position is a technically challenging, demanding and expansive role that requires candidates who are not only passionate about IT but also have in-depth hands-on technical experience. The main duties of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer include:

           Provide 3rd/4th Line Technical Support

           Develop technical routines and instructions

           Delivering infrastructure solutions supported by the production of solution high and low level design documentation.

           Project experience (leading and management).

           Subject matter expert to support presales.

Essential Skill/Experience includes:

           Virtualisation design and implementation for resilient cross data centre solutions (ESXi, KVM, Hyper-V).

           Strong Microsoft skills with SCCM, AD, GPO’s, AD Federation

           Securing and hardening best practice for Microsoft and virtualisation technologies.

           Working with enterprise storage solutions.

           VDI/RDS - design and deployment experience.

           Strong Communication skills for both customers and senior management

Desirable Skills/Experience includes:

           Networking and virtual networking including firewalls

           Anti-virus technologies at enterprise level.

           Veeam enterprise backup solutions

           DR and business continuity management experience.

           RedHat / Centos LINUX support and configuration.

           Working knowledge of MS SQL Server.

           Incident, change and problem management (ITIL).

           Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM).

This is a role that is suitable to a wide range of candidates including Infrastructure Engineers, 3rd Line Support Analysts, Server or Systems Engineers, Senior Sysadmin’s, hands-on IT Managers, Senior Deployment Engineers and many more!

Commutable locations include Swindon, Watchfield, Shrivenham, Oxford, Witney, Newbury, Cirencester, Lechlade, Faringdon, Didcot and many more. Candidates who are happy to relocate will also be considered.
