A leading Engineering company are seeking a contractor for an initial 6 month period to work as part of a small team providing professional training & development services in preparation for the introduction of a new Business process to the global service community.

The Instructional Designer will be responsible for investigating, designing and developing technical and operational course content related to its introduction and use. The person will be required to utilise their strong technical and creative design knowledge to develop a range of training solutions to achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by all system users.

The Instructional Designer will be required to develop detailed technical training specifications and materials. The candidate must have strong command of PowerPoint and e-Learning Authoring Tools (Adobe Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia etc.). The role should be technically-savvy, be able to manipulate digital content, and to incorporate it into course materials.

Team work, the ability to work closely and communicate effectively across a broad range of different functions is absolutely essential for this role. Source information necessary to develop course content must be obtained through interaction with SMEs, or via an independent research with the relevant project and product teams.

Experience Required:

- Ability to use specialist eLearning development tools including Articulate, Adobe Captivate and Creative Cloud applications - Fluent in English (written and verbal)

- University or formal training qualification - Recognised qualification in an engineering or technical discipline - CIPD or other recognised Learning & Development qualification, strong understanding of andragogic learning principles

- Considerable instructional design experience (5 years), ideally gained in a technical environment

- The candidate should be technically-savvy and able to manipulate digital content and incorporate it into course materials.
