Systems Administrator -Leicester - Permanent

I am looking for an extremely competent and skilled Systems Administrator who would like the opportunity to join an organisation who can offer fantastic development opportunities and a clear career path within their group IT function.

Key responsibilities:

*Offer 3rd line technical and software support for all IT related queries, relating to hardware, software and business systems.

*Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, servers, networks, malware protection software and other processes

*Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls

*Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution

*Maintain, continuously review and audit systems and networks to ensure they are compliant (i.e. PCI, GDPR, SOX, ISO, FCPA etc.)

*Provide an escalation path for the Helpdesk and 2nd line support teams, escalating and liaising with suppliers and third parties where necessary.

*Proactively monitor system and network performance and respond immediately to security or usability concerns

*Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure

Key skills:

*Experience of working in a technically diverse organisation.

*Understanding of Change Control process and procedures.

*Extensive knowledge of Red Hat Linux and Windows OS

*Extensive experience with VMware

*Extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and technologies.
