The Role
Responsible for assuring that the introduction of change into the IT operational environment is controlled and managed to minimise disruption to the operational services and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Accountable for IT change, release and configuration management processes and policies.
* Manage and maintain the governance for the IT change management process, including the maintenance of business and IT stakeholders for assessments and decisions around IT change.
* Ensure adherence to the IT change, release and configuration management processes and policies for all IT changes by the business and IT stakeholders and suppliers.
* Assure approvals for change and chair the Change Advisory Board as part of the process delivery.
* Coordinate with the service providers to assure appropriate change planning and preparation, change implementation/ release deployment, and change reviews and closure (performing Post Implementation Reviews as required).
* Maintain and manage the alignment between the IT Change Management and Release Management processes. Embed configuration management into the change and release management processes.
* Ensuring that releases are properly assessed, approved and released successfully into the operational environment.
* Get assurance that adequate testing has been carried out on all relevant releases before they are deployed in the operational environment, that all back out plans have been checked and approved and resources are available to carry out any changes.
Key Skills:
* Demonstrable and compelling experience operating in IT Change, Release and Configuration Management roles, ideally in multi-supplier/ SIAM environments. Strong process knowledge and policy development experience essential.
* ITSM skills and ITIL V3 certification (minimum Foundation, ideally Intermediate level).
* Practical experience and certification in Project Management (e.g. PRINCE2 Foundation)
* Experience in a DevOps/Agile organisation
* Experience at working within a multiple supply chain environment
* Experience of working with Cloud Technologies (Optional)
* Cloud Service Management knowledge and certification (e.g. Cloud Credential Council)
