Technical Support Engineer

One of our Midlands-based clients has been well established for over 50 years and is urgently looking for a local and experienced Technical Support Engineer to join their closely-knit IT Team based in Birmingham ASAP. This would be a Fixed Term Contract of six months.

Technical Support Engineer duties include, but are not limited to:

* Providing quality First/Second line support and training to end users, ensuring resolution of new and outstanding service requests and fault tickets.

* Monitoring and ensuring smooth operation of the company Endpoints, PC's, Laptops, iPads, Iphones and Printers through maintenance and configuration.* Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation

Key requirements are:

* Experience in a Windows Server/Client Environment demonstrating Customer Service.

* Practical experience resolving PC problems demonstrating strong Computer hardware configuration.

* Understanding of basic Infrastructure concepts, AD Systems Administration, Server/Client interoperability, Microsoft Windows Servers, PC's MS Office Applications.

* Understanding of TCP/IP networking and an awareness of network data security issues - including antivirus skills.
